Course Description
Correctional officers are first and foremost responsible for the safety of the facility, staff, and inmates. But they also are in a unique position to influence residents to get support for a substance use disorder, and it oftentimes can be a simple, quick conversation. This course will help you identify some common withdrawal symptoms for alcohol, opioids, and methamphetamine and get an understanding what medications can be used specifically to treat opioid withdrawal.
