Course Description:
We hear a lot about the toll of the opioid epidemic in America: Over 107,000 people died of opioid overdoses in 2021 alone. But what are opioids, what do they do, and why are they so dangerous? In this course, get an introduction to opioids and how they effect the body. Learn how opioid use can turn into dependence and how to spot the signs of an opioid overdose. Get an understanding of naloxone and how Narcan (a nasal spray version of naloxone) can be used to prevent an opioid overdose death. Additionally, employers will get tips on how to reduce the effects of opioid workplace impairment.
